Meet Our 6 Global Brand Ambassadors in their Elements

UNIQLO strives to help and inspire those towards sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. We partnered with our amazing Global Brand Ambassadors who have pushed for these practices all while inspiring the youth through their individual sports. We’ll take you through their history of being in their element.
Shingo Kunieda

Our very first Global Brand Ambassador is no other than the world-class wheelchair tennis professional Shingo Kunieda. Born in Japan, Shingo was also able to set an outstanding example that nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. “Either change or die” was Shingo’s motto ever since he got paralyzed in his lower body due to a spinal tumor at the age of 9. In 2007, Shingo became the first wheelchair player to win all Grand Slam events for the first time in wheelchair tennis history. He’s also earned 4 gold medals at the Paralympics and has won 28 Grand Slam titles. We hope to contribute to his passion for tennis through our activewear. Learn more about Shingo by visiting here.
Roger Federer

The “King of Tennis” is one of our admired Global Brand Ambassadors. Roger Federer is from Switzerland who made his ATP Tour debut in 1998. He has won numerous Grand Slam titles; 20 to be exact. Roger has rewritten tennis history over his 24 years of playing professional tennis. One phenomenal record he broke was becoming the “oldest” No. 1 singles tennis player in the world. Roger is deeply admired by the tennis community and we hope to contribute to his greatness through our programs. Learn more about Roger by visiting here.
Kei Nishikori

The tennis player to set many “firsts” in tennis for Japan is none other than our amazing Global Brand Ambassador, Kei Nishikori. Representing his home country Japan, he has proudly won Japan’s first tennis medal in 96 years at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. He was also the first Japanese player to reach the final of the U.S. Open in 2014. Today, Kei is still working towards his goal; to become number one in the world. We hope to contribute to his success through our DRY-EX apparels, specifically made for active daily wear. Learn more about Kei by visiting here.
Gordon Reid

Britain’s youngest Men’s Singles National Champion is none other than our Global Brand Ambassador Gordon Reid. Representing Great Britain, Gordon has won the Singles gold and bronze medals at the 2016 Rio Paralympics as well as the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics respectively. Like Shingo, nothing stopped Gordon from achieving his dreams of becoming a professional tennis player. At the age of 12, Gordon was struck with a rare condition called Transverse Myelitis. In 2016 he was honored with an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) and was also the No.1 wheelchair tennis player in the world. We hope to contribute to his passion for tennis and helping others through our programs. Learn more about Gordon by visiting here.
Ayumu Hirano

Japan’s youngest ever Winter Olympics silver medalist at the 2014 Sochi Olympics is our amazing Global Brand Ambassador Ayumu Hirano. Representing Japan, Ayumu has started the impossible challenge of competing in both snowboarding and skateboarding. He participated at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics for skateboarding and won a gold medal at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in snowboarding. Ayumu strives to inspire many by challenging what’s considered impossible. We hope to contribute to his strive for excellence through our UNIQLO gear. Learn more about Ayumu by visiting here.
Adam Scott

One of the world’s top golfers is our last Global Brand Ambassador that we would like to introduce. Representing Australia, Adam Scott won his first tour title at the Deutsche Bank Championship in 2003. In 2013, he became the first Australian to win a Master’s championship; just after becoming one of our Global Brand Ambassadors. Adam established the Scott Foundation in 2005, which provides education opportunities for the youth. We got inspired by Adam to launch the UNIQLO Light Pants, which can be used for casual and sportswear. Learn more about Adam by visiting here.
Conclusion
All these amazing professionals help with our UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program. This program helps aspiring sports professionals to not only chase their dreams but to also make their dreams come true while still practicing sustainability.
